Bobby Wilkinson Bobby Allen Wilkinson, 66, of Commerce, died Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at Athens Regional Medical Center, Athens. Born July 7, 1938, in Stephens County, he was the son of the late Allen and Mary Grace Segars Wilkinson. He was the owner of the Wilkinson Trucking Company, was a member of Tates Creek Baptist Church and the Hebron Masonic Lodge. Mr. Wilkinson was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Bramlett Wilkinson. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bret and Krissy Wilkinson, Commerce; and a brother, Brannon Wilkinson, Commerce. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 24, at Tates Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Gary McEntire, Gerald Beaty, and Mr. Warren Wilkinson officiating Burial will be in Bold Spring United Methodist Church. Joe Harris Joe L. Harris, 89, of Jefferson, died Thursday, March 17, 2005. He was born and lived all of his life in Jackson County, he was the son of the late James L. and Clara Pittman Harris and was a retired farmer. Mr. Harris was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church and the Unity Lodge #36-F + AM. He was a devoted Daddy and Paw-Paw, according to loved ones. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, James P. and Linda Harris, Robert W. and Betty Harris, all of Jefferson, and Charles L. and Janie Harris, Anderson, S.C.; daughter and son-in-law, Lenora and Jack Rogers, Bogart; sister, Clara Lou Wilson, Jefferson; sister-in-law, Anna Lou Harris, Jefferson; nine grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. Born in Union Springs, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Erah Lou Cook Hall. She was a retired nurse, spending most of her life caring for others and had a great passion for nursing, according to family members. She was Baptist. Mrs. Woodall was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lynn Gee, three brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her husband, Alton Woodall, Auburn; two sons, James Kenneth Barnes, Hoschton, and Jeffery Madison Barnes, Auburn; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia Ann and Charles W. Berry and Jennifer Lynn and Timothy W. He was the son of the late John Lovett and Mary Oglesby Thompson. Mr. Thompson was a Bell South Systems Technician, a Telephone Pioneer, a member of the National Sporting Clays Association, and a member of McDonald Baptist Church. Born December 23, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Lum and Molly Edwards Porter. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Commerce. Mrs. Hardy was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Jefferson Moss, and by her second husband, Talmadge Hardy. Deborah Cowart Deborah Fields Cowart, 51, of Jefferson, died Thursday, March 17, 2005. She was born in Commerce, the daughter of the late Bob and Geneva Fields. She was known for her warm heart and her kind spirit, according to family members. Survivors include a daughter, Tracy Ross; five sisters, Karen Fields, Tammy Johnson, Bobbie Sue Fields, Paula Walden, and Robin Parsons; one grandson, Casey J. Autry; and a host of nieces, nephews, and several family members and friends. Kevin Richardson Kevin Clay Richardson, 20, of Nicholson, died Saturday, March 19, 2005, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. A native of Jackson County, he was the son of Connie Lester Richardson, Nicholson, and Albert Richardson, Bethlehem. A 2002 graduate of Jackson County Comprehensive High School, he was attending Athens Technical College. He had been employed at DuPont for one year and was currently employed at Nakanishi Manufacturing Corporation. Mr. Richardson was preceded in death in 2003 by his grandfather, James Curtis Lester. Survivors include his parents; two grandmothers, Hazel Lester, Nicholson, and Gladys McQueen, Irvin, Ky.; aunts and uncles, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Lester, Farmington, Tommy Lester, David Lester, Marshall Lester and Tonya Lester, all of Nicholson; and seven cousins. A native of Monroe, he was a former employee of the Athens Banner-Herald/Daily News and was a retired textile worker. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Eula Jean Green Whitehead; daughters, Shelia W. Survivors include a son, Rashe W. Stephens, Jr., Peachtree City; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Curtis Collier Sr. Curtis Harris Collier, Sr., 84, died Friday, March 18, 2005, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, following an extended illness. Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Curtis Howard and Eliza Christopher (Kit) Collier. He graduated from North Georgia College and the University of Georgia. He worked as County Agent for the University of Georgia for several years and lived in Walton County. His last position was Far East Director for the Poultry Institute of America, based in Tokyo, Japan. After returning from Japan, he moved back to Jackson County for several years, then moved to White County, where he resided for 15 years. He was a member of the Jersey United Methodist Church in Walton County and he served as a Captain in the United States Army in the South Pacific during World War II. Mr. Collier was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Wicker Collier, and grandchildren, Jody Tucker and Melinda M. Simmons. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Claire Wilson Collier; ten children, Carolyn Mundy, Curtis Collier Jr., Connie Norman, Connie Tucker, Sam Nance, Mary Collier (Kiefl), Martha Blokzyl, Catherine Collier, Claire Dawson and Benjamin Collier (and their spouses); 19 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Harris Collier. There will be a private family gathering to celebrate his life. Born January 21, 1925, in Dawsonville, he was the son of the late Bert and Berta Kelly Wehunt. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army during World War II, and attended the New Bethel Baptist Church. Mr. Wehunt was preceded in death by his wife, Cora “Dolly” Catherine Gilleland Wehunt, a daughter, Catherine Gail Wehunt, a granddaughter, Teresa Gail Thomas, and a daughter-in-law, Paula Wehunt. Survivors include a son, Roger Wehunt, Carnesville; three daughters, Carolyn Thomas, Doraville, Brenda Crane, Austell, and Shirley McPhee, Lawrenceville; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Glenn Wehunt, Lawrenceville; and two sisters, Ollie Mae Gilleland, Norcross, and Louise Dispain, Duluth.
