Panthers’ golf team defeats Prince Ave.

Jackson County Panthers opened the golf season in a win against Prince Avenue, March 6. The next match for the team is at Double Oaks, formerly Sandy Creek, against Madison County Wednesday afternoon.
The Panthers’ first scrimmage against Commerce was incomplete since they were unable to finish nine holes.
The Thursday round against Prince Ave. ended with Jackson County winning 194 to 206.
The Lady Panthers’ also defeated Prince Ave. in a 112 to 118 victory.
Coach Warren Standridge said, “The golf team is working hard to get better and we would like to thank Traditions and their staff for allowing us to use the practice facility and course.”
Standridge said that he tries to use competition to strengthen the golfers.
“We have putting contests and chipping contests to keep them focused,” said Standridge. “We are just trying to get better each day and put ourselves in position to compete at region.”
Both the men and women’s teams are 1-0 this season.
Jackson County plays Madison County Wednesday, at Double Oaks. Then on Thursday, the Panthers will be back at Traditions taking on Stephens County.
