Dorothy B. Nunn
Dorothy B. Nunn, 77, of Commerce, died Monday, March 24, 2008, at Hill Haven Nursing Home.
Born in Milton County, she was the daughter of the late Segal Lester and Mae Ethel Sexton Fouts. She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church and was a retired manager of Pic and Pay Shoe Store.
Survivors include her husband, W.T. Nunn, Commerce; daughters, Etheleen Bryant, Temple, Belle Hayes and Ruth Heard, both of Commerce, and JoAnn Compton, Danielsville; a son, Thomas Daniell, Commerce; step-daughter, Elaine Strickland, Danielsville; step-sons, Tony and Tim Nunn, both of Commerce, and Terry Nunn, Jefferson; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 26, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Henry Webb officiating. Burial was in Jackson Memorial Gardens.

Roy Vaughn
Roy Lee Vaughn, 61, of Jefferson, died Thursday, March 6, 2008.
He was born on July 8, 1946, in Gaston, Ala., the son of the late Henry and Norry Ruth Wilkerson Vaughn. He was an automobile mechanic and was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war. Mr. Vaughn was preceded in death by a son, Steven Vaughn.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Parker Vaughn, Jefferson; three stepchildren, all of Jefferson; five grandchildren, all of Jefferson; and one great-grandchild, Jefferson; two sisters and two brothers, all of Alabama.

Ralph Marlow
Ralph C. Marlow, 73, of Gainesville, died Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, following an extended illness.
He was born on September 23, 1934, in Jackson County, the son of the late Hubert and Essie Lay Marlow. He was retired as a cab driver with 49 years of service and was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Stephens Marlow, Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and James Summersett, Gainesville; sons and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Lisa Marlow and Barry Marlow, all of Gainesville; special grandchildren, Shane Grindle and Ashley Marlow; sister, Irene Adams, Oakwood; special friend, Cliff Savage, Gainesville.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 25, at Temple Baptist Church with Dr. James Ransom and the Revs. Doug Gaines and Zack Watson officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park cemetery.

Clayton Brown
Clayton Scott Brown, seven month old infant son of Brandon Brown and Courtney Smith, died Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, following an extended illness.
Clayton was preceded in death by a brother, James Brown; grandmother, Annette Griffin; great-grandmother, Mazelle Henderson; great-great-grandfather, Clay Driskell; great-grandparents, J.R. and Gladys Griffin and Clay and Lavora Delong.
Survivors in addition to his parents, include a sister, Zoe Smith; grandparents, Warren and Angie Bratten, Charles Henderson, all of Gainesville, and Johnny and Janita Brown, Jefferson; great-grandparents, Sarah Delong, Royce and Kaye Delong, all of Gainesville; Joyce and J.B. Brown, Gillsville, Eddie and Sonja Bagwell, Oakwood; great-great-grandmother, Ella Driskell, Gainesville; and great-grandfather, Frank Henderson, Gainesville.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 28, in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial was in Lebanon Methodist Church cemetery.

Chadrick Williams
Chadrick R. Williams, 31, of Commerce, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008.
He was the son of Brenda Williams of Commerce and Gene and Joan Williams of Commerce. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by grandparents, Gene Williams Sr., Clara Mae Williams and Eugene Pace, and an uncle, Joseph E. Pace.
He was a graduate of Banks County High School and attended Georgia Southern College and the University of Georgia. He was a graduate of Gupton-Jones Mortuary College in Decatur. He was also a lance corporal with the Reserves of the United States Marine Corps.
Survivors in addition to his parents, include a grandmother, Mary Williams Steed, Commerce; fiancé, Elanore Matthewson, Fredericksburg, Va.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 29, at Webbs Creek Baptist Church in Banks County with the Revs. Phil Parks and James Dumas officiating. Burial was at the church cemetery.

Costine Wilkerson
Costine Wilkerson, 65, of Winder, died Tuesday, March 25, 2008.
Born in Perry County, Ky., she was the daughter of Alpha Forrester of Braselton and the late Clifton Jones.
Survivors in addition to her mother, include her husband, Ronald Wilkerson, Winder; and a daughter, Vicki Wilkerson, Clarkston.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 29, at Smith Memory Chapel with the Rev. Jason Walls officiating. Burial was in Barrow Memorial Gardens.

James Hardigree
James P. Hardigree, 86, of Hoschton, died Thursday, March 27, 2008.
A native of Oconee County, he was the son of the late Willie and Willie Mae Fincher Hardigree. He was a member of the Center United Methodist Church and was a retired plumber. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Hardigree was preceded in death by a son, Terry Hardigree.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Hosch Hardigree; children, Tyron Hardigree, Dawsonville, Bill Hardigree, Gainesville, Tim Hardigree, Hoschton, and Twanda Finch, Bethlehem; sisters, Lillian Finch and Laura Finch, both of Augusta, Louise Fincher, Winder, and Annie Wofford, Statham; brothers, Herbert Hardigree, Locust Grove, Harold Hardigree, Winder, and Ramie Hardigree, Monroe; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 30, from the Center United Methodist Church with the Rev. Howard Banks officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Barbara Ann Lee
Barbara Ann Lee, 52, of Gillsville, died Saturday, March 29, 2008.
Born on March 1, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Johnny Clifford and Ruby Norris Lee.
Survivors include sisters, Clara Hansford, Toccoa, Loretta Carter, Pendergrass, Rita Wilson, Gainesville; brothers, Johnny C. Lee Jr., Commerce, Larry Lee, Murrayville, and Leroy Lee, Pendergrass; companion, William Ronnie Dale, Gillsville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Private family services will be held at a later date. The body was cremated.

Nathaniel Howard
Nathaniel W. Howard, 68, of Maysville, formerly of Cleveland, died Saturday, March 22, 2008, following an extended illness.
He was born on June 27, 1939, the son of the late John David and Carrie Nix Howard. He was a farmer for many years and was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Howard.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Howard, Maysville; daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Roy Hay, Cleveland, Elizabeth and Keith Taylor, Cornelia, Karen Thompson, Habersham; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Cheryl Howard, John and Mandy Howard, all of Gainesville, Steve Leith Howard, Talmo; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Kay Howard, Habersham; sisters-in-law, Dorthy Howard, Gillsville, and Sally Howard, Cleveland; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 25, in the chapel of Barrett Funeral Home with the Revs. Royce Winters and T. John Dell officiating. Burial was in the Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery in Gillsville.

Idell Morton
Idell Morton, 69, of Maiden, N.C. died Sunday, March 23, 2008, at the Palliative Care Center & Hospice of Catawba Valley.
She was born on May 29, 1938, in Franklin County, the daughter of the late James Frank and Vera Short Morton.
Survivors include a nephew, Leonard D. Morton, Maiden; several other nieces and nephews; sister and brother-in-law, Katie Brooks and Robert Chastain, Commerce; and a brother Johnny F. Morton, Royston.
A service of remembrance was held Thursday, March 27, at the B.D. Ginn Memorial Chapel of Ginn Funeral Home with the Revs. Truitt Brawner and Roger Elrod officiating. Burial was in Carey Memorial Gardens in Royston. Pallbearers were her nephews.

Audrey Beck
Audrey Turner Beck, 90, of Hill Haven Nursing Home, died Thursday, March 27, 2008.
Survivors include her husband, Rufus Beck, Commerce. Mrs. Beck was preceded in death by a son, Robert Beck; and daughter, Betty Beck.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 30, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home. Burial was in the Apple Valley Cemetery.

Bertie Casey
Bertie Louise Casey, 64, of Athens, died Thursday, March 27, 2008.
She was a native of Madison County, the daughter of Roberta Tucker Casey of Athens and the late Leon Casey. Mrs. Casey was preceded in death by a sister, Rosie Lee Epps.
Survivors in addition to her mother, include a sister, Frances C. Alexander, Commerce; brother, Walter James Casey, Hull; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 29, in the chapel of Bridges Funeral Home with the Rev. Lee Hunter officiating. Burial was in the Nicholson Cemetery.

Lee Roy Bowden
Lee Roy Bowden, 80, of Commerce, died Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at his residence, following an extended illness.
Born in Habersham County, he was the son of the late Bascom Lee and Minnie Lee Stowe Bowden. Mr. Bowden was preceded in death by a son, Lee James Bowden; and a daughter, Barbara Jean Bowden.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Wiley Bowden, Commerce; sons and daughter-in-law, Roy Howard and Toni Bowden, Commerce, James Bowden, Atlanta; daughters, Louise Bowden, Mary Ann Mealor, both of Commerce, Johnnie Ruth Roberts, Nicholson, and Francine Bowden, Maysville; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 3, at 2 p.m., from Webbs Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Wade Lott, James Dumas and Craig Bryant officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 2, from 6 to 9 p.m. and at other times at the residence, 108 Creekway Rd., Commerce.

Mary Nelle Isbell
Mary Nelle Isbell, 91, of Talmo, died Tuesday, April 1, 2008.
Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late James Bradley and Lula Victoria Hancock Langford. She was a retired elementary school teacher and a member of the Holly Springs United Methodist Church. Mrs. Isbell was preceded in death by her husband, James Monroe Isbell.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Charles Fletcher, Talmo, Mary Lynn and Scott Orr, Acworth; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Vicki Isbell, LaGrange; grandchildren, Ryan Fletcher, Lindsay Isbell, Jordan Isbell, Whitney Carlson, Jessica Orr and Ansley Orr.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 4, at 11 a.m., from the Holly Springs United Methodist Church with the Revs. Mark Spence and Tom Fish officiating. Burial will be in the Talmo Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday, April 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
