Annie Jarrett
Annie Hope Jarrett, 87, of Madison County, died Monday, May 12, 2008.
She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Evelyn Hollis. Mrs. Jarrett was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Jarrett; and a son, David Dwayne Jarrett.
Survivors include sons, Jessie L. Jarrett and Joseph I. Jarrett; daughter, Patricia Maddox; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, May 14, at the Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Gerald Brunson officiating.
Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, was in charge of arrangements.

Elberta Denton
Elberta Hooten Denton, 76, of Commerce, died Thursday, May 8, 2008, at BJC Hospital in Commerce.
She was the daughter of the late Lewis Hooten and Lola Fowler Scoggins.
Survivors include a son, David Moats, Jonesboro, Donald Denton, Elberton, David Denton, Athens; daughters, Betty Aaron, Jefferson, Linda Casper, Colbert, Janis Bowles, Commerce; 26 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 10, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Revs. Henry Webb and Tommy Watson officiating.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.

Neil Lord
Royce Neil Lord, 42, of Hull, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008.
He was born on May 17, 1966, and was the son of Royce E. and Shirley Lord.
Survivors in addition to his parents, include his wife, Paula Lord; a son, Erik Neil Lord; daughters, Emilee Patrick and Elisa Vanessa Lord; sister, Diane O’Kelly; grandchildren, Maxwell Jason Lord and Lucee Anna Joy Patrick.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 10, at Comer Baptist Church with the Revs. Rodney Owens and Bill Avant officiating. Burial was in Meadow Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jack Nash, Joe Martin, Ken Bryant, Ron Patrick, Tim Sheridan and Tony Tedrick.

Steve Jordan
Steve Gregory Jordan, 59, of Royston, died Thursday, May 8, 2008, at the Cobb Memorial Hospital in Royston.
Born in Franklin County on March 25, 1949, he was the son of the late William Gregory and Dorothy Geraldine Vickery Jordan. He was a car salesman and was a member of the Royston First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Scott Jordan, Royston; brother, Dale Jordan, Royston; and a host of cousins.
Graveside services were held Monday, May 12, at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Royston with the Rev. Mac Enfinger officiating.
Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, was in charge of arrangements.

Jenny Allen
Jenny Allen, 58, of Hull, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008.
Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of Helen Brock of Hoschton and the late Edward Thomas Harbin and was a homemaker. Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by sisters, Joyce Wheeler and Rita Patterson.
Survivors in addition to her mother, include a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Sammy Gregory, Winder; daughters, Jennifer Crowe and Helen Allen, both of Winder, and Molly Allen, Hull; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Robert Harbin, Rockingham, N.C.; and a sister, Gail Gordon, Nicholson.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 10, at Smith Memory Chapel with the Rev. Al Garvin officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Jennifer Helen Allen Fund.

Terry Allen
Terry William Allen, 57, of Augusta, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at the Medical College of Georgia.
Born in Commerce, He was a resident of Gracewood Nursing Facility and was the son of Myra Patterson Smith of Hull and the late William Ralph Allen. Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his step-father, Lonnie Lee Woods Sr.; step-brothers, Mylon Woods and Lonnie Lee Woods Jr.; and step-sister, Ann Hill.
Survivors in addition to his mother, include sisters, Colette Woods, Hull, Lisa Chandler, Danielsville; step-brother, Mike Woods, Colbert; step-sister, Linda Cartildge, Commerce; and all of his Gracewood family.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 9, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. Buford Lockman officiating. Burial was at Evergreen Memorial Park.

Robert Vaughter
Robert Tate Vaughter, 67, of Athens, died Friday, May 9, 2008, at his residence.
Born in Elbert County, he was the son of the late Albert Tate and Gussie Maxwell Vaughter. He was a member of North Side Baptist Church. Mr. Vaughter was preceded in death by a son, Robert Jeffery Vaughter; and a sister, Bette Ann Vaughter.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Alan and Susan Vaughter, Iva, S.C.; daughter, Teresa Vaughter Rosencrantz, Beaufort, S.C.; sisters, Barbara Vaughter Kay, Elberton, Susan Vaughter Jordan, Toccoa; brothers, Richard Emmett Vaughter, Hull, Alan Clark Vaughter, Elberton; grandchildren, Brooks Vaughter, Kasey Vaughter, Hunter Vaughter and Joseph Rhodes; great-granddaughter, Madison Martin.
Funeral services were private.

Maliece Lord
Maliece Martin Lord, 79, of Elberton, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008.
Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Steve and Vesta Ingram Martin. She was a member of the Dewy Rose Baptist Church and was retired from Oxford Industries. Mrs. Lord was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Lord.
Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Vaughn, Bowersville; sons, James Lord, Elberton, and Steve Lord, Danielsville; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 9, at Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Purvis officiating. Burial was in the Grey Hills Cemetery in Commerce.
Pallbearers were Steve Hall, Cale Smith, Nathan Heaton and Derek Lord.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dewy Rose Baptist Church.
Berry Funeral Home, Elberton, was in charge of arrangements.

Wilma Williamson
Wilma Hix Williamson, 93, of Commerce, died Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens.
She was born in Madison County, the daughter of the late Luther and Pearl Bolton Hix. She was a member of Berea Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Ms. Williamson was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Williamson.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Eleanor Williamson, Commerce; daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Ronnie Ray, Commerce; granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Julie and David Trejo, Rome, Mollie and Mark Brower, Kailua, Hawaii, and Lauren and Jonathan Milford, Commerce; great-grandchildren, Addie Grace and Darrell Trejo, both of Rome.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 15, at Berea Baptist Church with the Revs. Terry James, Verlin Reece and Grady Jordan officiating. Burial was in the Williamson Family Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Berea Baptist Church or the Berea Baptist Church Community Center, c/o Shirley Stephenson, 545 A.C. Smith Rd., Commerce, GA 30530.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.
