Graduation set Friday at BCHS

Banks County High School seniors will take their long-awaited journey across the graduation stage Friday night.
A total of 133 seniors are scheduled to receive their diplomas during graduation ceremonies Friday at 8 p.m. at the BCHS football stadium. A rain date has been set for Saturday at 11 a.m.
Sarah Major is this year’s valedictorian while Branson Simmons is the salutatorian. Whitney Sanders is the first honorian.
Seniors are scheduled to practice Wednesday morning for Friday night’s ceremony.
The BCHS class of 2007 has received approximately $50,000 in scholarships, principal Art Wheaton said.
Honor graduates from the class of 2008 include: Cody Ballenger, Lacey Bennett, Jennifer Bowen, Kellie Brown, Crystal Cruz, Krista Dodd, Bobbie Hewell, Robin Kuhns and Sarah Major.
Also, An Pham, Whitney Sanders, Branson Simmons, Amanda Smallwood, Diana Taylor, Nathan Ward, Allison White and Gloria Yang.
