MRS. GRAHAM
Clarke County native
COMMERCE - Mrs. Geraldine Rebecca Graham, 58, died Monday, July
10, 2000.
A native of Clarke County, Mrs. Graham was a daughter of Clyde
McRee, Commerce, and the late James W. McRee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Casper Graham.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 12, in the chapel
of Bridges Funeral Home, Athens, with the Revs. Richard Gasser
and Jeremy Baseman officiating. Burial was in Boggs Chapel Cemetery.
Dale Wood, Donald Wood, Ted Holladay, Danny Hagg, Oliver Walters
and Mike Carson served as pallbearers.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include two daughters,
Lisa McRudy, Danielsville, and Tracey Graham, Commerce; one sister,
Montine Hunter, Danielsville; one brother, Calvin McRee, Danielsville;
four grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Bridges Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MRS. MOSS
Bell South retiree
ATLANTA - Mrs. Mary Helen R. Moss, 77, died Wednesday, June 28,
2000, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Atlanta, following an extended
illness.
Mrs. Moss was born February 22, 1923, in Durham, N.C. She was
a daughter of the late Charlie Reynolds and Nancy Reynolds.
Mrs. Moss was retired from BellSouth as the group chief operator,
with 38 years of service, and was a member of Skyland United
Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Telephone Company
Pioneers.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 1, at Whitfield Funeral
Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, with the Rev. Bob Ramsey officiating.
Burial was in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Carlyle Moss; son
and daughter-in-law, Lt. Col. Tom Moss and Dr. Vickey Moss, Alexandria,
Va.; sister and brother-in-law, Doris R. and Dr. Harlan Chapman,
Dalton; one brother, Howard Reynolds, Reseda, Calif.; two granddaughters,
Beth and Jenny Moss, Alexandria, Va.; four nieces, three nephews,
six great-nephews and five great-nieces, including her namesake,
Mary Helen Humble.

MR. BROOME
Schnadig Corp. retiree
MT. AIRY - George Howard Broome, 64, died Monday, July 10, 2000,
at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, following a
brief illness.
Mr. Broome was born May 22, 1936, in Banks County. He was a son
of the late Mickey and Zadie Smith Broome.
Mr. Broome was retired from Schnadig Corporation as a shipping
clerk and was of the Baptist denomination.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 12, at Glade Creek
Baptist Church with the Revs. Thomas Gragg, Johnny Thomas and
Luther Williams officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Franklin Broome; two sons,
Mark Edward Broome and Jeff Howard Broome, both of Mt. Airy;
one brother, Jack Broome, Mt. Airy; and two sisters, Bernice
Dailey and Bessie Brown, both of Mt. Airy.
McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, Cornelia, was in
charge of arrangements.

MRS. VAUGHN
Homemaker
BALDWIN - Mrs. Gladys Carlan Vaughn, 87, formerly of Homer, died
Tuesday, July 11, 2000, at Habersham County Medical Center following
an extended illness.
Mrs. Vaughn was born March 5, 1913, in Franklin County. She was
a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Mary Stubblefield Carlan.
Mrs. Vaughn was a homemaker and a member of Bethany Christian
Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garnett E.
Vaughn.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 12, at Bethany Christian
Church with Jerry Payne officiating. Burial was in the church
cemetery.
Mrs. Vaughn is survived by two daughters, Helen Vaughn Gowan,
Augusta, and Myra Vaughn Willoughby, Villa Rica; five sons, Herbert
Vaughn, Griffin, William "Bill" Vaughn, Pell City,
Ala., Kenneth Vaughn, Naples, Fla., Henry Vaughn, Banner Elk,
N.C., and Donald Vaughn, Pendergrass; one sister, Sue Chambers,
Naples, Fla.; 20 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one
great-great-grandchild.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Bethany
Christian Church, c/o David Dunson, P.O. Box 454, Homer, GA 30547.

MR. COUCH
U.S. Army veteran
HULL - Weyman Barto Couch Sr., 67, died Tuesday, July 4, 2000.
A native and lifelong resident of the Athens area, Mr. Couch
was a son of the late Jerome and Dora Lee Huff Couch.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Compass Community
Church.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 6, at Compass Community
Church with the Rev. Jim Carpenter officiating. Entombment was
in Evergreen Memorial Park. Darren Dudley, Bootsie Glenn, Scott
Hughes, Felton Mobley, Melvin Moon and Max Sanders served as
pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Billy Couch, Dean Couch
and Harry Couch.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Ann Couch; daughters and
sons-in-law, Carol Renee and George Bonner, Commerce, Paula Ann
and Rick Stuchell, Colbert, and Heather Christian and Ken Carr,
Hull; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey Jerome and Liz Couch,
Colbert, Weyman Scott and Wendy Couch, Monroe, and Weyman Barto
Jr. and Kendra Couch, Auburn; one sister, Jannie Stonecypher,
Hull; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

MR. MORGAN
Native of Athens
ATHENS - Steve "Bubba" Morgan, 20, died Wednesday,
July 5, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Morgan was born August 14, 1979, in Athens. He was a son
of Barbara Jean Morgan, Athens, and Steve Franklin Morgan, Covington.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 8, at Little Country
Church with the Revs. Charles Elrod, Joel Shadburn and Jack Pope
officiating. Burial was in the Nicholson Cemetery.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his step-mother,
Teresa Morgan, Covington; two brothers, Darrell Travis Cobb,
Wartburg, Tenn., and Steven Lee Morgan, Covington; three sisters,
Tabitha Hogan and Mary Louann Morgan, both of Covington, and
Sabrina Ruth Morgan, Nicholson; maternal grandmother, Ruth Slater,
Athens; paternal grandparents, D.J. and Gladys Morgan, Athens;
and step-grandparents, Ted and Linda Cobb, Wartburg, Tenn.
