By virtue of the Power of Sale contained in a Deed to Secure Debt and its modifications from Raymond Reese and Sherry Reese to Tolbert Financial Services, Inc., dated December 19, 1996, and recorded at Deed Book 16-I, Pages 238-242, in the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Jackson County, Georgia, there will be sold by the undersigned at public outcry to the highest bidder for cash before the Courthouse door of Jackson County, Georgia, during the legal hours of sale on the first Tuesday in October, 2000, the following described property, to-wit:
All that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the 455th Georgia Militia District of Jackson County, Georgia, being Tract Number 1 containing 1.50 acres as per plat of survey by Russell N. Bartlett, Surveyor, recorded in Plat Book 33, Page 172, Jackson County, Georgia, Plat Records, said plat incorporated herein by reference.
This Deed is given subject to the restrictions recorded in Deed Book 11-F, Page 116, Jackson County, Georgia, Deed Records, and to the existing easements and to the Jackson County, Georgia, zoning regulations.

Said tract being more particularly shown on that certain As-Built Survey prepared by Venable & Associates, Inc. bearing the seal and certification of Allen L. Venable Jr., Georgia Registered Land Surveyor No. 1761, dated July 9, 1997.
The debt secured by said Security Deed has been and is hereby declared due because of, among other possible events of default, nonpayment of the monthly installments on said loan. Said default not being cured, and the debt remaining in default, the sale will be made for the purpose of paying the same and all expenses of the sale, including any accrued attorney's fees.

UNITED CITIES GAS COMPANY has made application to the Georgia Public Service Commission to replace 184 miles of cast iron pipe in Columbus, Georgia, over a 15-year period and 46 miles of bare steel pipe in Gainesville, Georgia, over a 20-year period. This application requests authority to institute a customer surcharge to assist with the costs of the project. A copy of the application is on file with the Georgia Public Service Commission and is also available for public inspection in the offices of the Company in its Georgia service areas.
This matter has been assigned Docket No. 12509-U and has been scheduled for a formal public hearing before the Commission at 10:00 a.m. on October 2, 2000, in the Commission's hearing room located in Room 507 at 47 Trinity Avenue, Atlanta, Georgia, 30334. Anyone interested in this matter will be given the opportunity at this hearing to express his or her views.

In addition, the Chairman shall have the authority and responsibility to participate in Administrative Variances as defined and described in Section 12.5.
ADD (new) Section 12.5 Administrative Variances:
12.51 The Chairman of the Board of Adjustment, together with and in concurrence with the Planning and Development Director, shall have the power to grant variances (except for density and use variances) from the development standards of this ordinance where, in their opinion, the intent of the ordinance can be achieved and equal performance obtained by granting a variance. The authority to grant such variances shall be limited to variances from the following requirements: A) Front Yard or Yard Adjacent to Public Street. Variance not to exceed ten (10) feet; B) Side Yard. Variance not to exceed five (5) feet; C) Rear Yard. Variance not to exceed ten (10) feet; D) Height. Variance not to exceed ten (10) feet, provided that no increase in the height of a sign may be granted nor may the variance result in an increase in the number of stories that would otherwise be allowed under the applicable zoning district.
12.52 In the event that the Chairman and the Director cannot concur on an administrative variance request, the request will be forwarded to the entire Board of Adjustment (at no additional fee from the applicant) for a decision.
12.53 A decision on an administrative variance request shall be made and issued in writing within 30 days from the date that a complete application is sumitted to the County.
12.54 Any person or persons who may have substantial interest in any decision of an administrative variance may appeal such decision to the entire Board of Adjustment. Such appeal shall be in writing and shall be filed with the Planning and Development office within 30 days of the administrative variance decision.
