William T. King
William T. King, 54, of Ila, died Saturday, November 11, 2000,
at his residence.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November
16, at Nun's Chapel of St. Mary's Hospital, Athens.
Mr. King is survived by his wife, Marion King; three sons, Steven
Gunderson, Joe King and Billy King, all of Hull; three grandsons,
Steven Gunderson II, D.J. Gunderson and Brandon Nalla; and nieces
and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's
Research Hospital, 501 St. Judes Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or
to Athens Regional Hospital Cardiac Unit.
National Cremation Society, Lilburn, is in charge of arrangements.

Hersie V. Garner
Mrs. Hersie Veal King Garner, 87, of Bowman, died Thursday, November
9, 2000, at Comer Health Care Center.
Mrs. Garner was born February 13, 1913, in Madison County, a
daughter of the late James "Jim" King and Ethel Brown
King.
She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church,
Bowman. Mrs. Garner was preceded in death by her husband, Willie
David Garner, four brothers, Aubrey, Charlie, Rufus and Emerson
King, and three sisters, Edith Nash, Rachel Segars and Agnes
Coker.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 11, in the chapel
of Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery,
Royston. Chris Ayres, Jeremy Garner, Jason Marlow, Brian Carey,
Jackie King and Chris Whitworth served as pallbearers.
Survivors include one son, Clarence Garner, Bowman; two brothers,
J.W. King, Hull, and Paul King, South Carolina; two grandchildren,
six step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Russell C. Keller
Russell C. Keller, 43, of Nicholson, died Tuesday, November 7,
2000.
A native of Detroit, Mich., Mr. Keller was a son of Bill and
Ruth Bridges, Lilburn.
He had been employed with Saint Mary's Hospital, Athens, for
over 18 years and was a member of St. Gregory Episcopal Church.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 11, in the chapel
of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, West, with Chaplain Mark
Fite officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Sandra
Thornton Keller; one daughter, Mandy Keller, Nicholson; one son,
Chad Keller, Watkinsville; two step-sons, Brian Flanagan and
Joshua Flanagan, both of Nicholson; four sisters, Vickie Baskins,
Hartwell, Donna Parker, Winterville, Darlene Bennett, Watkinsville,
and Diane Rice, Danielsville; one brother, Bobby Bridges, Gainesville;
grandmother, Edna Owsley, Lake City, Fla.; and many nieces and
nephews.

Michael B. Bishop Jr.
Michael Bruce Bishop Jr., 24, of Comer, died Tuesday, November
14, 2000.
Mr. Bishop was born in Pulaski County, in Fort Benning, Ga.,
a son of Michael Bruce Bishop Sr. and Priscilla Iris Nicholson
Bishop.
He was employed with Dial America and was a member of Colbert
Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 16,
at Colbert Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Fuller officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include one sister, Angela
Iris Bishop, Comer; and one brother, Robert Eddie Bishop, Comer.
The family was to have received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday
at Brown's Funeral Home, Danielsville. The body will be placed
in the church at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

Junios E. Haley
Junios Edward Haley, 70, of Danielsville, died Monday, November
13, 2000.
Mr. Haley was born in Franklin County, a son of the late Doc
Calloway Haley Sr. and Paulene Harris Haley.
He had been employed as a cotton mill worker with Chicopee. Mr.
Haley was preceded in death by a son, Marvin Haley.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 15, in the chapel
of Brown's Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Rev. J. Paul
Hood officiating. Burial was in the Union Baptist Church cemetery.
Scott Haley, Christopher Haley, Russell Conn, Kelton Conn, Keith
Haley and Kevin Haley served as pallbearers.
Mr. Haley is survived by his wife, Vivian Brown Haley; four daughters,
Evelyn Whitsel and Vivian Peeples, both of Carnesville, Aileen
Conn, Dewey Rose, and Kay Horne, Danielsville; three sons, Edward
Haley, Troy Haley and Kirby Haley, all of Danielsville; three
sisters, Paulette Graham, Alabama, Pearl Sanders, Nicholson,
and Nancy Edwards, Commerce; two brothers, Bob Haley, Florida,
and Cleo Haley, Gainesville; 26 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren
and several nieces and nephews.

Nettie R. Dean
Mrs. Nettie Ruth Dean, 58, of Hull, died Saturday, November 11,
2000.
Mrs. Dean was born in Chickasaw, Miss., a daughter of the late
Aaron Claude and Lela LeDora Beavers Farley.
She was employed with the transportation department of the University
of Georgia and was a member of Providence Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Sunday, November 12, at Providence
Baptist Church with the Rev. Albert Vaughn officiating. Burial
was in the church cemetery. O.C. Mannozzi, J.W. Epps, Buzzy Blalock,
Jr. McGee, Ike Haley and Tim Hardeman served as pallbearers.
Mrs. Dean is survived by her husband, Odell Dean; one son, Scott
Dean, Athens; three sisters, Blanche Hare, Six Mile, S.C., Lola
Roach, Emporia, Va., and Marie Gilstrap, Easley, S.C.; one brother,
Cliff Farley, Fairfield, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.

Marguerite S. Hitchcock
Mrs. Marguerite Sims Hitchcock, 89, Decatur, formerly of Colbert,
died Saturday, November 11, 2000.
A native of Madison County, Mrs. Hitchcock was a daughter of
the late Bulloch and Belle Hardman Sims.
She was a homemaker and a member of Colbert United Methodist
Church. Mrs. Hitchcock was preceded in death by her husband,
Bradford Hitchcock.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, November 15, in Colbert
City Cemetery with the Rev. Grady Wigley officiating. Brett Elam,
Matt Elam, Scott Elam, Terry Elam, Mitchell Goss and Harold Gaulding
Jr. served as honorary pallbearers.
Survivors include one daughter, Kim Hitchcock, Decatur; nieces,
Robin Hickman MacCurdy, Fairview, N.C., and Donna Hickman Elam,
Franklin, Tenn.; and nephews, Barry Hitchcock, Athens, Billy
Munroe, Largo, Fla., and Barrie Munroe, St. Petersburg Beach,
Fla.

Tom Russell
Tom Coile Russell, 71, of Comer, died Wednesday, November 8,
2000.
Mr. Russell was born in Madison County, a son of the late John
James and Essie Lee Cooper Russell.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a retired farmer and a retired
construction worker from the University of Georgia.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 10, at New Hope Presbyterian
Church with the Revs. Calvin Coile and Douglas Hammond officiating.
Burial was in Paoli Cemetery. Butch Russell, Preston Russell,
Tony Russell, Jody Russell, Roy Russell and Huelin Russell served
as pallbearers.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Russell, Comer; one son,
Steve Russell, Watkinsville; one sister, Mozelle Wells, Elberton;
one brother, John Russell, Comer; and several nieces and nephews.
