To All Interested Persons and Parties
You are hereby notified that a public meeting/hearing will be held at 7:00 p.m. on January 29, 2002, at Lee Arrendale State Prison Conference Center, 505 Wright Street, Alto, Georgia 30510.
The purpose of this meeting will be to receive comments on the air quality permit application for the construction and operation of an asphalt plant submitted by the Georgia Department of Transportation, to be located at County Line Road (onto property owned by the Georgia Department of Corrections) in Alto (Banks County), Georgia.
This notice is being distributed by newspaper publication, by mailing, and by the Department of Natural Resources web page (www.dnr.state.ga.us/dnr/environ/). A copy of the air quality permit application is available for inspection and review during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except official State holidays, at the Environmental Protection Division, Air Protection Branch, 4244 International Parkway, Suite 120, Atlanta, Georgia. At the public meeting/hearing, anyone may present data, make a statement, comment or offer a viewpoint or argument either orally or in writing.
If copies are desired, a copying machine for public use is provided by EPD at the Atlanta Air Protection Branch office only and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. One copy of a single draft permit can be made free of charge. If additional copies are required, a copying charge of 25 cents per page will be assessed unless you bring your own copier.
Written comments are welcomed. To insure their consideration, written comments should be received on or before January 29, 2002. A resolution to amend Article V entitled ³Commercial Agricultural District,² Section 503, ³Conditional Uses² of the zoning resolution of Banks County, Georgia, so as to provide for septage handling facilities and land application as a conditional use; to provide for applications; to provide for management; to provide for application rates; to provide for record keeping; to provide for septage holding facilities; to provide for minimum acreage; to provide for an effective date; to repeal conflicting ordinances and resolutions, and for other purposes.
A resolution to amend Article VIII of the zoning resolution of Banks County, Georgia, entitled ³C-1, Neighborhood Commercial District² so as to provide as a permitted use a feed and seed equipment store; to provide for an effective date; to repeal conflicting ordinances and resolutions, and for other purposes.
A final plat for Buckeye Subdivision, Phase II is in the office for review and a final plat for a Class I Subdivision for Thomas Ward.
The Banks County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on the matters on Monday, January 7, 2002, at 7 p.m. in the courtroom located at the Banks County Courthouse in Homer.
The Banks County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the matters on Tuesday, January 8, 2002, at 7 p.m. in the courtroom at the Banks County Courthouse in Homer.
