The Department of Transportation will receive sealed bids until 2:00 p.m., July 31, 2003, for sale of surplus consisting of 5.322 acres. This parcel consists of a tract of vacant land under DOT Project EDS 441 (21) Banks County, that is located in Georgia Militia District 1580 east of Wofford Creek Road near the intersection of Wofford Creek Road and S.R. 15/US 441. A minimum bid of $17,000.00 has been established.
Bids must be submitted on a Bid Proposal Form issued by the Department of Transportation, Property Management Section, Room 437, No. 2 Capitol Square, S.W., Atlanta, Georgia 30334, before 2:00 p.m., July 31, 2003.

Please take notice that the following applications and ordinance have been received by the Banks County Planning Office:
CU-03-03 - Application by Byung Chung for a conditional use permit for a health spa at 152 Dallas Drive. This property is located off Highway 441, South and is zoned C-2, General Commercial.
Z-03-04 - Application by Mountain Express Oil for rezoning of 1.273 acres on U.S. Highway 441, North from ARR, Agricultural, Rural-Residential to C-1, neighborhood commercial for a convenience store.
Z-03-05 - Application by David C. Jones Jr. for rezoning of four acres on U.S. Highway 441, North from ARR, Agricultural, Rural Residential to C-2, General Commercial for a produce and antique operation.
The following ordinance will be considered:
An ordinance to amend Chapter 34 entitled “Environment,” Article III of the code of ordinances of Banks County for the purpose of adding Section 34-69 to prohibit connections to the Banks County Water System if the development will cause development of the floodplain; to provide for an effective date and to repeal conflicting ordinances and for other purposes.
The above applications are on file in the office of the Banks County Planning Commission and are available for public review.
The Banks County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on the matters on Tuesday, August 5, 2003, at 7 p.m. in the courtroom located at the Banks County Courthouse in Homer, Georgia.
The Banks County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the matters on Tuesday, August 12, 2003, at 7 p.m. in the courtroom at the Banks County Courthouse in Homer, Georgia.
