Hazel V. Epps
Mrs. Hazel V. Epps, 81, of Danielsville, died Thursday, June 17, 2004.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 20, in the chapel of Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville. Burial was in Danielsville Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Epps is survived by a daughter, Gwennell Epps Lerch, Danielsville; sons, Charles Edward Epps, Athens, and Aubrey Lee Epps, Danielsville; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Brown Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Rea Harris
Mrs. Rea McConnell Harris, 99, of Carlton, died Sunday, June 20, 2004, at Brown Convalescent Center in Royston.
Born March 22, 1905, in Franklin County, Mrs. Harris was a daughter of the late John F. and Ophelia Stevenson McConnell.
Mrs. Harris was a retired high school teacher, having taught in the Madison and Walton County School Systems, and was a member of Carlton Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Harris, and three brothers, Roger McConnell, Eugene McConnell and David Mack McConnell.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, in B.D. Ginn Memorial Chapel of Ginn Funeral Home, Carnesville, with the Rev. Bill Stacey officiating. Burial was in Carlton Cemetery.
Survivors include a step-daughter, Frances Kelly, Elberton; sisters, Mary M. Sewell, Carnesville, and Helen M. Smith, Jefferson; and several nieces and nephews.
Ginn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Lonnie R. Elrod
Lonnie Randall Elrod, 52, of Hull, died Tuesday, June 15, 2004.
A native of Jackson County, Mr. Elrod was a son of Emma Greene Elrod, Hull, and the late Lonnie Fred Elrod.
He was employed with Power Partners Services, was a charter member of Hull Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of Hull Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 18, at Hull Baptist Church with the Revs. Randy Crowe and Terry Smith officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Curtis Anderson, Buddy Logan, Billy Barnett, Marvin Wooten, Sammy Jones, Brad Ward and Frankie Cleveland served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Homer Bagwell, Earl Wilkins, Robert Bagwell and employees of Power Partners.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Elrod is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward and Pat Elrod and David and Barbara Elrod; and nieces, Angela and Amy Elrod, both of Charlotte, N.C., and Melanie and Melissa Elrod, both of Hull.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East, Athens, was in charge of arrangements.

‘Boy Red’ McCannon
Lamar “Boy Red” McCannon, 69, of Carlton, died Monday, June 21, 2004.
A native of Oglethorpe County, Mr. McCannon was the son of the late Alvin Lewis and Jimmie Mae Goode McCannon.
He retired from Mize Granite Company and was of the Baptist denomination.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Revs. Chester Hall and Glenn Guest officiating. Burial was in the Carlton Cemetery. Doug Sorrow, Jake Amason, Wayne Sorrow, Mike Leadley, Mike Watkins, Gary Sisk and John Sisk served as pallbearers.
Mr. McCannon is survived by his wife, Sybil Sisk McCannon; daughter, Mary Teresa McElhannon, Clarkesville; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Robert Culbertson, Danielsville; son and daughter-in-law, David and Elizabeth McCannon, Carlton; sister-in-law, Grace McCannon, Aberdeen, Md.; grandchildren, Sheri and Philip Guest, Matthew McCannon and Andy McCannon, all of Carlton, Bethany Culbertson and Jeremy Scarborough, both of Danielsville, and Shannon Hardeman, Travis McElhannon and Amber McElhannon, all of Clarkesville; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
