Advertisement for Bids
Sealed proposals will be accepted by Jackson County Government until 3:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, August 12, 2004 in Jackson County Purchasing Department, 67 Athens Street, Room 214, Jefferson, Georgia 30549 for RFP #04-09, Hangar Rental at Jackson County Airport for the Jackson County Government. All proposals will be opened in public and offerors names will be read aloud immediately following the specified closing time. Proposals received after the due date and time will not be accepted or considered.
The proposals will be received from individuals or companies that desire to rent the available hangar space at the Jackson County Airport known as the Morgan Hangar on an annual basis. The facility is available immediately after a lease is signed. The hangar bay is 7,440 SF clear span constructed of prefab structural steel with three offices and two restrooms.
Prospective Bidders are invited to attend a Pre-Proposal Conference and site visit on Thursday, August 5, 2004 at the Jackson County Airport, Lyle Field Road, Jefferson, Ga. at 10:00 a.m. in the Pilot & Crew Rest Area Building. All prospective bidders are encouraged to attend.
The Proposal documents may be obtained at the office of Linda Kay Daniel, Purchasing Manager, 67 Athens Street, Room 214, Jefferson, Georgia 30549 or email ldaniel@co.jackson.ga.us for a copy of the proposal.

The Georgia Department of Transportation proposes to widen and reconstruct U.S. Highway (US) 441 from just south of the Jackson-Clarke County Line northward to the City of Commerce, Georgia. An unnamed perennial tributary to Border’s Creek, which flows in the direct vicinity of the planned activity, would lose some of the vegetative buffer that exists along its stream banks. Road widening at this location is necessary for the establishment of safer traffic conditions.
Site plans for the proposed construction can be viewed at the Georgia Department of Transportation Area Office at State Route (SR) 10, SE, Athens, 706-369-5627.
