Three people were killed in a head-on collision in Barrow County on Hwy. 11 South at 1:05 a.m. Tuesday morning. Captain Dennis Dorsey of the City of Winder Police Department said officers responded to the scene in reference to a head-on collision. Undercover drug probe leads to 19 arrests in Barrow County

An undercover drug probe focusing on alleged drug dealers in Barrow County led to the arrest and/or warrants being issued for the arrests of 43 individuals, including 19 county residents. BOE increases deficit projections

BY KRISTI REED The Barrow County Board of Education has tentatively approved $1.4 million in additional expenditures for the fiscal year 2009 budget. Preliminary budget projections indicated Barrow County Schools would face a $2.4 million shortfall in the next fiscal year. With the new budget additions, that deficit will grow to $3.8 million. ...
