A proposed change to Braselton’s future land use plan for a property on Ga. Hwy. 124 in Barrow County will be heard by the town’s planning commission next month. Dear Editor: I am a tenant on The North Georgia Regional Airport. I run The Flight School Of Barrow County, and we pay more rent to the county than any other tenant on the airport. Results released Friday, July 25 by the Georgia Department of Education indicate that the Barrow County School system failed to meet adequate yearly progress (AYP) standards. The Barrow County Board of Education will meet Tuesday, July 29 at 6:00 p.m. to discuss the Comprehensive System Improvement Plan (CSIP) for Barrow County Schools. A fast moving line of severe thunderstorms kept Barrow County Fire and Emergency Services crews busy Tuesday night. The strong storms moved into the county at approximately 7 p.m. and resulted in extremely high call volume at the Barrow 911 center.
