Election day phone calls, apparently paid for by an unidentified local candidate, disturbed many Jackson and Banks County voters Tuesday. Home destroyed in Tues. fire

Units from the Jackson County Correctional Institute, North Jackson and Plainview fire departments responded to a house fire Tuesday afternoon on Forest Lake Road. The home and a shop belonging to Michael Flynn were destroyed by the blaze.

Nicholson approves municipal court

After months of waiting, the City of Nicholson now has a municipal court. The city council voted unanimously Monday night to approve an ordinance allowing for a judge, clerk and associated personnel needed to operate the court.
