A gas leak caused an Auburn house to explode on Tuesday, Oct. 21, according to investigators with the Barrow County Fire and Emergency Services. Four juveniles are facing charges of burglary, criminal damage to property and entry upon property after causing extensive damage to a town house on Turtle Creek Drive. The son of BarrowJournal.com web editor Kristi Reed was seriously injured in a car wreck Wednesday evening while driving home from football practice at Mill Creek High School. The Statham Police Department investigated two possible burglaries this past week. One incident occurred on Railroad Street, the other on Lillian Way. Statham officials discuss Community Center rental fees
