WBHS band to host golf tournament

The Winder-Barrow High School Bulldogg marching band will be hosting a golf fundraiser on Tuesday, October 21 at The Chimneys golf course in Winder. The tournament will benefit the WBHS band program. Deputy apprehends snake spotted in cupboard

A Barrow County Sheriff’s deputy was recently dispatched to a Hog Mountain Road address in response to a snake complaint. The complainant advised the deputy that, while in her kitchen, she saw a baby snake crawl out of a cabinet. The deputy located the slithering suspect under the stove and captured it. The Barrow County Methamphetamine Task Force has arrested two individuals as a result of an investigation into the illegal sale of prescription drugs at 428 Foxdale Road in Winder. On September 26, the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) announced the start of the “Rolling Thunder Taskforce” traffic safety operation.
