Man arrested on drug, weapon charges after dispute

A Winder man was arrested last week after police found marijuana and a hand gun in his vehicle. Police were dispatched to the Shell gas station on Midland Avenue after a man called 911 to report that he had been threatened by Alex Wiley Griffith, age 51. Man tests limits of motorcycle, lands in jail

A Gwinnet County man was arrested for reckless driving after using Hwy. 316 as a test track. A Barrow County deputy clocked the man travelling in excess of 110 miles per hour with a laser, more than 45 miles above the posted limit of 65 mph. An 84-year-old Hoschton woman has been charged with homicide by vehicle in the second degree for a wreck that took three lives in February. The Georgia State Patrol says Minnie Lucille Dressler, 1764 Ga. Hwy. 211, crossed the centerline on Hwy. 211 on Feb. 24 and hit a Chevy Lumina head-on with three passengers. Garage fire under investigation

The Fire Investigation Unit and Barrow County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a Monday morning garage fire.
