A local man called the Auburn Police Department after someone damaged or stole political signs from his yard supporting Barack Obama. Morris Balmon of Wynfield Lane said he last saw his signs at 1 a.m. on Nov. 1 and noticed them missing about seven hours later. Man robbed during card game

A Talmo man said he was robbed at gunpoint while playing cards with several men at a Pleasant Hill Drive residence. The victim said one of the men, who he had never seen before, pulled out a gun during the game and took his money, as well as robbing two other men in the home.

Person mistaken as a man accused of writing bad checks at Hwy. 211 store

Braselton police say a person who was mistaken for a man — but is now a woman — is accused of forging checks at a grocery store. Employees at Publix on Ga. City’s sewer plant starts treating waste

It’s now official — Hoschton’s long-awaited new sewerage treatment plant is treating wastewater from the city.
