Banks County was one of 24 teams that competed in the championship match of the Jackson County Panther Invitational Tournament. It was a rough weekend for local racers who made the trek to Pensacola, Fla. to compete in the 41st annual Snowball Derby weekend at Five Flags Speedway. Twenty-four high school wrestling teams came out to the Panther Invitational over the weekend, with the Mat Panthers of JCCHS bringing home seventh place in their home meet, scoring two first place championships, along with a second place. Jefferson came out on top of a 24-team field in the Panther Invitational. Jefferson won, scoring 321.5 points. Second place Gilmer county scored 169. JHS had 11 wrestlers reach the finals out of 14 classes. Six of those picked up championships, with the other five finishing second.
