A ceiling fan caught on fire in a Hoschton house, according to the West Jackson Fire Department. When firefighters arrived to the scene on Nov. 25, they found smoke coming from the attic of a house on W. Jefferson Street. A fire was contained to a ceiling fan and the area around the fan. Grand jury indicts foster mother in infant's death

A Jackson County Grand Jury indicted Wendy Osborne, 29, Nicholson, on two counts related to the Sept. 2 death of 9-month-old Jessica Scovil. Osborne turned herself in to the Jackson County Jail Monday afternoon and was released on a $7,000 bond. Managers of the Braselton Logistics Center warehouse on Hwy. 124 said this week that the large tax abatement granted the company by Barrow County will be savings passed on to potential lease clients. Colbert man charged with burglarizing estranged wife’s home

A Colbert man was arrested by the sheriff’s office last week after he allegedly burglarized his estranged wife’s Alberta Drive home.
