A lone gunman robbed a Subway restaurant near the county’s industrial area off Bankhead Highway Tuesday night and left the restaurant with more than $450 in cash. First time unemployment insurance claims jumped again in December in Northeast Georgia. Barrow County had 763 people make first time unemployment claims in December, an increase of 67 percent from November and 120 percent from the year before. Statewide, November to December numbers grew 73 percent and December 07 to December 08 grew 174 percent.
