A developer is seeking buffer and parking space variances for a proposed commercial development on the Jefferson bypass. Sales taxes tumble

Sales tax revenues in Jackson County fell sharply in November, dropping 28 percent from November 2007. That decline was the worst monthly drop in 2008 for the county. The West Jackson Middle School Chorus Boosters is hosting a spaghetti fundraiser to benefit chorus students who are performing at Walt Disney World during spring break. Bullet breaks window, lands behind couch

A bullet broke a window at a Jefferson house before landing near a couch, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. A woman at a Hope Haven Road address said when she arrived home, she noticed that a window was broken at her residence.
