Track Teams Take Third At Athens Academy

The Commerce track teams are coming off of a third place finish at Athens Academy last week. The Lady Tigers finished third with 28 points behind first place Oglethorpe County (95) and Athens Academy (89). Prince Avenue finished fourth with 20 points. Post resigns; Leisure Services director quits

Two additional Barrow County department managers have resigned. Robert Post, the chief of Barrow County Fire and Emergency Services, resigned Wednesday, one day after returning to work from a one-week suspension. Jackson County among fastest growing

Jackson County’s growth may be slow today, but between 2007 and 2008, new Census numbers put it as the 25th fastest growing county in the nation. The Jefferson golf teams split last week with a win over Hebron Christian Academy and a loss to Providence Christian Academy. Today, (Wednesday) Jefferson will head to Homer to play Banks County at Hammer’s Glen. Suspect steals vehicle at gas station

A man who left the keys in the ignition of his Range Rover watched as an unknown suspect drove the vehicle from a Braselton convenience store on Thursday, according to police.
