The JCCHS tennis teams were scheduled to start their season on Friday against Winder Barrow. But rainy conditions kept the teams off the court, and pushed the start of the season for Jackson County to this week. The Jefferson tennis teams continued their early strong showing, as both improved their records to 2-0 with victories over Lakeview Academy last week. For the boys, they defeated Lakeview 6-1. Family Connection plans mobile food pantries

Banks County Family Connection will sponsor six mobile food pantries this year. Details were given at the recent board meeting. Some 10,000 pounds of food will be passed out at each event. A Gainesville man was arrested on Thursday and charged with sexual battery in Banks County. Jason Kyle Chester, 36, 2955 Skylark Place, was arrested following an investigation by the Banks County Sheriff’s Office investigators.
