Colbert man charged with obstruction

A Colbert man was arrested recently after a scuffle with deputies at his home on Shoal Creek Road. Gary Dwight Beck, 38, 1265 Shoal Creek Road, was charged with three counts of obstruction of an officer, and one count each of disorderly conduct and criminal trespass. Schools to make counteroffer on property

Madison County school officials will propose a $32,000 counteroffer in negotiations to sell .83 of an acre the system owns in Danielsville. The lot is located across from the Madison County government complex. The school system was offered $20,000 for the land earlier this month.
