One person is dead — apparently a child — and two others were transported by helicopter to Grady Memorial Hospital early Sunday afternoon with gunshot wounds in what Commerce police chief John Gaissert called “a deadly confrontation” at a white frame house at 228 Troy Street in Commerce. Deadly wreck slowed by haz mat clean-up

A deadly multi-vehicle accident in Jackson County on Interstate 85 under the Dry Pond Road bridge on Friday morning was slowed by a hazardous materials clean-up. All lanes opened at noon. Statham youth killed by train

A 17-year-old Statham youth was killed Saturday morning when he was hit by an oncoming CSX train just outside the city limits. But exactly what happened isn’t yet clear.
