Water ban rules changed in Braselton

The Georgia Environmental Protection Division has allowed Braselton to change its outdoor watering restrictions. The changes take effect immediately. A teenager waiting in a vehicle as family members shopped in Braselton said an unknown man assaulted her on Sunday. The 13-year-old girl was in the parking lot at Publix on Ga. Hoschton to appeal lawsuit decision

Hoschton will appeal a judge’s ruling that the city must pay almost $230,000 to a development company. Colbert man charged with obstruction

A Colbert man was arrested recently after a scuffle with deputies at his home on Shoal Creek Road. Gary Dwight Beck, 38, 1265 Shoal Creek Road, was charged with three counts of obstruction of an officer, and one count each of disorderly conduct and criminal trespass. Madison County school officials will propose a $32,000 counteroffer in negotiations to sell .83 of an acre the system owns in Danielsville. The lot is located across from the Madison County government complex. The school system was offered $20,000 for the land earlier this month. An unknown caller made a bomb threat at a new Burger King on Ga. Hwy. 124 in Hoschton, according to the West Jackson Fire Department. A caller asked someone at the restaurant on Thursday if “she was ready for her bomb and did she have her fuses lit,” according to an incident report.
