A residential fire was reported Tuesday morning at 456 Y.Z. Sailors Road in Jefferson. Units from Harrisburg, Jefferson and the Jackson County Correctional Institute Fire Departments responded to the fire. The single family residence was found fully involved with fire. Airport asks for two staff members

The Jackson County Board of Commissioners heard a request from airport manager Bob Stapleton to create two new staff positions at the airport at a cost of $90,000 to the county for salaries and benefits. Atlanta firefighter arrested in Barrow

An Atlanta firefighter was arrested last week for allegedly beating and sexually assaulting his ex-girlfriend, who is a paramedic in the Johns Creek area and resides in Barrow County. County pay cuts run from $94 to $10,000

Danielsville man charged with battery

A Danielsville man was arrested on family violence charges recently after he allegedly struck his ex-wife. Drunk driver pleads with arresting officer

A Gainesville man accused of driving under the influence of alcohol had a few requests of his arresting officer, according to Braselton police.
