Sheriff suspends jailer in drug case

A detention officer at the Barrow County Detention Center has been suspended without pay after drug investigators found him inside a Hoschton residence during a search. IDA approves Hull sewer contract

Madison County leaders approved a contract last week for the construction of a long-awaited commercial sewer system in the Hull area. Four juveniles were arrested recently in connection with several recent burglaries in the Garnett Ward Road, Jacob’s Field and Bryce Landing areas off Hwy. 29 south near Hull. Katherine Twigg, 47, of Hoschton, is expected to plead guilty to charges relating to conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud. Anthony Tobin, 51, of Atlanta, pled guilty to federal charges of conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, and one count of wire fraud. The owner of the Danielsville BP store reported the theft of approximately $10,000 in lottery tickets recently. According to the incident report, the owner reportedly confronted a former employee, who admitted to the theft and wrote a statement to that effect.
