A county marshal was called to a Braselton residence after a homeowner was told to extinguish an illegal outdoor fire, according to the West Jackson Fire Department. Bonds to be refinanced to cut budget deficit

Refinancing its 2008 economic development bonds will be one part of the Jackson County Board of Commissioners’ efforts to address an anticipated $3.3 million shortfall in the 2010 budget. Medical center reports ‘small profit’

For the fifth consecutive month, BJC Medical Center turned a profit, albeit a small profit. Finance director Ray Leadbetter reported to the BJC Medical Center Authority Monday afternoon that for July, the medical center had $40,643 more in revenue than expenditures.
