A work crew clearing land leased by a hunting club on Hwy. 59 found suspected marijuana. The Banks County Sheriff’s Office was called in and a large amount of marijuana was found growing at the site. County coroner dies; Fire trucks lead funeral procession through Homer

A long line of fire trucks and other emergency service vehicles from across North Georgia drove through Homer Tuesday afternoon in a funeral procession for Banks County coroner Henry Galloway. Burglary reported at Lula store

The Banks County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary call early Friday morning at Lula Country Store, Highway 51 South, Lula. According to the report, a white male threw two large blocks of wood through the front door to gain entry into the store. Once inside, the offender stole 17 packs of cigarettes.
