Aggravated battery was reported on Hwy. 72 West recently when a Hull woman reported that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend. Thirty seven Madison County properties are advertised in this week’s paper for the September foreclosure sale, down from a record high of 50 for August. Through the first nine months of 2009, 261 foreclosures have been advertised in The Madison County Journal. In 2008, there were 260 foreclosures advertised, up from 150 in both 2006 and 2007. ... DOT crews resurfacing Ga. Hwy. 124

Crews started work this week to resurface SR 124 from SR 53 in Braselton to SR 11/US 129 in Jefferson. The project is 9.6 miles long and will cost $1.3 million.
