The Apalachee High School football team found a way to win last Friday night at Cedar Shoals. In order to contend for the playoffs and a region title, teams have to be able to do that. City halls to close on Labor Day

Braselton and Hoschton will close their city halls in observation of the Labor Day holiday on Monday, Sept. 7. Hoschton will also close its city hall on Friday, Sept. 11, as part of the town’s weekly furlough schedule. City hall is closed every Friday for a furlough day until further notice. 4-year-old child struck by vehicle

A 4-year-old Winder child was hospitalized Saturday after being struck by a vehicle on Lily Drive. According to preliminary reports, the 4-year-old child ran into the roadway and was struck by a 1996 Mazda Protege. Students in Barrow County Schools will not be required to watch President Obama’s address to school children scheduled for Tuesday, September 8. An off-duty deputy followed another vehicle that was driving aggressively in West Jackson, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
