The Jackson County cross country teams turned in a pair of strong finishes last week in a four-team meet at Madison County, as the girls were victorious and the boys’ team placed second against East Jackson, Madison County and Commerce. Still Perfect Eagles To Face Leopards

The East Jackson Eagles, 5-0 after a 42-20 win last Friday over Riverside at homecoming, travel to Homer this Friday for a 7:30 region contest against the Leopards. Qualifying to fill a seat on the Hoschton City Council will be held Tuesday through Thursday, Oct. 6-8, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at city hall. Party guest accused of electronics theft

A guest at a house party in Hoschton is believed to have stolen more than $1,780 in electronics from his hosts, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. Woman arrested after biting officer

A Winder woman was arrested after threatening and then biting an officer. Police were dispatched to 136 King Street in Winder in response to terroristic threats calls.
