There were some impressive numbers behind Madison County High School’s 27-4 finish on the softball diamond this fall. After making a slight drop in August, the unemployment rate in Jackson County went back up in September. In Jackson County, the rate went to 10.9 in September from 10.6 in August.

The Jackson County Panther cross country teams competed twice last week as they continue to prepare for this week’s region meet.
