Former Colbert schoolhouse slated for $21,500 in repairs

Colbert’s 83-year-old schoolhouse, which once housed grades 1-12 under one roof, is slated for some patching-up. City leaders approved a $21,521 bid Nov. 2 to repair damaged flooring in three rooms and the ceiling in one room of the former school building, which last held classes in 1981. Couple faces family violence charges

A Carlton couple was arrested on family violence charges recently after an incident at their home. Michael Leonard Lawrence, 39, and Michelle Renee Mack, 40, 688 Paoli Road, were charged with one count each of aggravated assault and cruelty to children. Property tax bills will arrive in mailboxes soon. County tax levying boards have already approved their tax rates.
