A Winder woman is facing more than $638 in fines and probation fees after calling animal control for help with an injured kitten. Debra Maire was cited for animal abuse and failure to obtain a rabies vaccination after an animal control officer was called to euthanize the animal. An Auburn man was arrested after calling 911 and hanging up the phone. When officers responded to the 40 Van Street address, an unidentified male answered the door. Local Ford dealers reporting improved sales

While most U.S. automakers continued to struggle, Ford Motor Company reported October sales of 132,483, a three percent increase over October 2008 and a 21 percent increase from the previous month.
