Authorities have apprehended a woman who fraudulently collected money from several businesses after claiming she was raising funds for the Toys for Tots foundation. The suspect, Marsha Lynn Foster, 47, of Decatur, was apprehended by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department at her home Saturday afternoon. Foster was arrested on charges of theft ... [Full Story »]

AHS won a coin toss Saturday morning to determine who will host the third round contest between the Wildcats and the Griffin High School Bears. Norcross man sentenced on meth charge

A Norcross man was sentenced to 10 years probation in Madison County Superior Court on a methamphetamine charge. Macario G. Villegas, 39, was also fined $2,025 for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute (reduced from trafficking in methamphetamine). The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating multiple burglaries and attempted burglaries. On November 1, a real estate agent called deputies after discovering the front door of a Payne Point Drive residence had been kicked open.
