Winder Police continue to investigate an “overwhelming” number of car break-ins within the city limits according to Det. Sgt. Rachel Love. The Jackson County Panthers ended their season the same way they started it. With a victory. The Panthers snapped their long region drought Friday night by defeating Stephens County 26-23. Special election to be held for Ward 5 council seat

Following the death of Ward 5 councilman Richard Massey last Saturday, Commerce will hold a special election on Tuesday, March 16, to fill Massey's unexpired term. Fire destroys home on Adams Clarke Road

A fire destroyed the home of Robert Austin at 2246 Adams Clarke Road around 9:30 Friday morning. Austin and two other residents of the home escaped without injury. The Jefferson Middle School Dragons finished the 2009 season undefeated last Thursday night with a 28-14 triumph over Lumpkin County in the North Georgia Mountain Conference Championship.
