An Auburn woman was arrested Sunday after allegedly threatening to kill her 14-year-old daughter. A concerned neighbor notified police after receiving a letter in which the girl stated that she had been locked in her room and was afraid her mother was going to kill her. A Winder man was attacked by two men last week after he was unable to repay a debt. The victim said Phillip Clifford Wells Jr., age 37, of 411 Tanners Bridge Circle in Bethlehem, came to his house demanding repayment of a $5 debt. A Hoschton man has pled guilty to allegations of committing a mortgage fraud, a real estate investment “Ponzi” scam involving more than 150 victims, a check-kiting scheme and a bankruptcy fraud.
