It was a rough start for the Lady Leopards’ basketball season. Banks County fell to Lakeview’s Lady Lions 40-34. The Lady Leopards will have a chance to redeem themselves next Monday as Banks County boys and girls travel to Lakeview to take on the Lions. The Baldwin City Council set the annual Christmas tree lighting in Baldwin for Friday, Dec. 4. This year’s festivities were discussed at a council meeting on Nov. 9. Firefighters raise over $9,000 for charity

Barrow County firefighters raised $9,742 during this month’s charity Boot Drive. Eagles Season Ends With Loss To Lovett

The East Jackson Eagles saw their 2009 football season come to a close Friday night at the hands of the Lovett Lions, who defeated the Eagles 58-0 in Atlanta. The 2009 Commerce football season ended Friday night, as the gridiron Tigers were knocked out of the postseason in the second round of playoffs by Darlington. Woman arrested for charity scam

Authorities have apprehended a woman who fraudulently collected money from several businesses after claiming she was raising funds for the Toys for Tots foundation.
