Revolver, shotguns stolen in burglary

An Apalachee Church Road resident returned home from work last week to discover his residence had been burglarized. According to the police report, the burglar(s) used a large piece of asphalt to shatter glass in a back door. Inmate files suit against jail, Sheriff

An inmate housed at the Barrow County Detention Center has filed suit against the jail, Sheriff Jud Smith and detention officer Mark Sigman. In documents filed Dec. 17, inmate Ralph Hill McElroy Jr. claimed he has been repeatedly harassed by Sigman despite filing several grievances asking for relief. Child hospitalized after ingesting pills

A two-year-old Auburn child was hospitalized after swallowing prescription medication belonging to his mother. Officers were dispatched to a residence on Carter Road after the mother called EMS to report the incident. One accident results in two arrests

Two drivers were arrested after a recent fender-bender at the intersection of Highway 316 and Highway 11. Deputies were enroute to the accident when dispatch advised that one of the vehicles had left the scene. A lookout was issued for a white Chevrolet van with front end damage.
