November was a very busy month for public safety in Barrow County. Communication officers with Barrow County Emergency Services answered over 3,300 emergency calls during the month. Chick-fil-A, Inc., last week closed on the sale of a one-acre site off Ga. 316 where a new restaurant will open as soon as April 1 across from the Barrow Crossing retail center. A Winder woman called the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office after receiving a threatening phone call. The caller warned that she intended to burn down the woman’s house. Statham Police investigating counterfeiting

Statham Police are currently investigating two incidents involving counterfeit bills. Both incidents were reported at a business on Atlanta Highway and involved counterfeit $10 bills. An Ellenwood woman was stopped after a deputy clocked her vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Highway 316 near Craft Road. A Winder man was arrested after repeatedly entering his neighbor’s house while intoxicated. Police were dispatched to a Mystic Lane residence after Warren Shaun Flanagan, 42, of 174 Mystic Lane in Winder refused to leave his neighbor alone. Auburn Police are investigating a series of car break-ins involving unlocked vehicles. Three separate incidents were reported on Dec. 2.
