The Jefferson Lady Dragons will return to action next week after Christmas break. Jefferson will be back in action on Dec. 28, as they face the Lady Longhorns of Kell in the Pickens County Christmas Tournament. Tournament play runs through Dec. 30. The Lady Dragons will be looking to score their first win of the season during the tournament.

Men giving beer to baby beat another man

A Jackson County man was badly beaten by two men after he confronted them about giving beer to a baby. The man said he saw his neighbors giving beer to a 15-month-old baby. A Danielsville woman was arrested recently after she allegedly bit and punched her juvenile daughter during an altercation. Tara Elizabeth Sosebee, 32, 257 Bonds Lake Road, was charged with one count of cruelty to children in the first degree.
