The Banks County School System will shut down at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 7, due to the forecast for snow. “This early release is an effort to be proactive and maintain student safety,” according to school officials. Banks County Sheriff Charles Chapman reported on Monday that 2009 was a very busy year for the Banks County Sheriff’s Office.
