A 25-year-old Auburn woman became violent after being asked to leave her mother’s home. Amber Jeannette Smith, of 348 Austin Way in Auburn, was cursing and acting belligerently when her mother told her to leave the house. Hoping perhaps to steal his or her way to a life of luxury, a thief snatched a roll of lottery tickets from a Winder business. The thief stole approximately 30 “Red Hot Millions” tickets from the counter of the Jet Market on Broad Street. The tickets have a retail value of $10 each. A Hoschton man called the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office after an ex-convict borrowed a car and failed to return it.
