Danielsville to give Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter $1,000

The city of Danielsville continued the trend of Madison County cities donating to the Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter, pledging $1,000 to the facility. Elderly man dies in Carlton fire

An elderly Carlton man was found dead early Monday after firefighters extinguished a blaze at his home. Olis Winn, 88, was discovered deceased at his house off Hwy. 72 Monday morning. Carlton and Comer volunteer firemen responded to the blaze. Carlton fire captain Chip Chandler said the house was engulfed in flames when the firemen arrived. ... [Full Story »]
