Barrow Regional Medical Center and Grace Baptist Church recently donated medical supplies to Missionary Flights International for the Haitian relief effort. Explorers to compete in Gatlinburg

The Barrow County Sheriff’s Explorers will be traveling to Gatlinburg, Tenn. this weekend for a law enforcement Explorers competition. Explorer posts from across the country are expected to attend. A 15-year-old Apalachee High School student is facing felony charges after bringing a loaded .357 revolver to school on Jan. 22. A mother called police after her son had what she described as “hormonal issues.” According to the mother, she and her son had been arguing about baseball practice and her son’s girlfriend. Statham Police investigate dog bite

Statham Police were called to an Atlanta Highway residence after a dog at the location bit two people. One person was transported to Barrow Regional Medical Center for treatment. Man acquitted in prom party death case

A Barrow County man has been found not guilty of reckless conduct in connection with the death of 18-year-old Leland Martin Jr. at an after prom party in April 2007.
