WPD reports fewer thefts, assaults

The Winder Police Department responded to fewer thefts, aggravated assaults and robberies in 2009. In some categories, the decrease was substantial. A woman called police for help after her teenage son reportedly received numerous harassing text messages and phone calls from other neighborhood teens.
